Hoshiarpur: A horrific road accident occurred in Dasuya, under the Hoshiarpur district of Punjab, where a passenger bus lost control and overturned, resulting in the deaths of eight people and injuring more than 32 others.
The incident took place near Sagra Adda on the Dasuya-Hajipur road. As soon as authorities received the news, senior police and administrative officials rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.
According to police, the mini-bus was traveling from Hajipur to Dasuya carrying approximately 40 passengers when the driver lost control of the vehicle near Sagran village. The bus overturned, leading to a deadly crash.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Mukerian, Kulwinder Singh Virk, confirmed the number of casualties and stated that all injured passengers have been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Dasuya. He also mentioned that the exact cause of the accident is still unknown and a thorough investigation will be conducted.
Preliminary information suggests that the bus was overspeeding, which likely caused the driver to lose control and led to the accident.
Local residents and police are actively engaged in the rescue operations. Several of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.
