Four Al-Qaeda Operatives Arrested from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat; Involved in Recruiting Fighters via Social Media

New Delhi: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested four individuals linked to the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. The ATS has also released the photographs of the accused. According to news agency ANI, preliminary investigations have established connections between the arrested individuals and Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). However, detailed information from the ATS is still awaited.

DIG Sunil Joshi of Gujarat ATS stated that the agency will soon hold a press conference to provide comprehensive details regarding the arrests. The accused were allegedly involved in circulating counterfeit currency and spreading the ideology of the terrorist group.

The arrests were made from various locations, including Gujarat, Delhi, and Noida. The individuals are suspected of using social media platforms for the recruitment of militants. They have been identified as Mohammad Faik, Mohammad Fardeen, Saifullah Qureshi, and Zeeshan Ali.

According to officials, the accused actively used social media platforms and encrypted applications to propagate Al-Qaeda’s ideology. Forensic analysis of their chat histories and social media accounts is currently underway. Authorities further stated that the individuals had been associated with the terrorist group for a significant period and had established contact through online platforms.

Their communication methods included the use of applications that automatically delete messages after sending, complicating efforts to track their activities. All four are currently being interrogated by the ATS.
