New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Thursday heard Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav’s bail plea. During the proceedings, the court made a strong observation, stating that he had to go to jail because he failed to fulfill his promise.
While hearing the petition filed on behalf of the actor seeking bail on the grounds of a family wedding, the High Court orally remarked that Yadav was sent to jail because he did not honor his commitment.
A bench led by Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma noted that on at least two dozen occasions, Rajpal Yadav had stated that he would fulfill his promise and make the payment. However, he failed to do so.
The court’s remarks came in response to the actor’s repeated assurances that remained unfulfilled, ultimately leading to his incarceration.
