Visa Restrictions on Pakistani Nationals to Continue: EAM Jaishankar

New Delhi, July 28: Speaking in the Lok Sabha on Monday, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said that Operation Sindoor was a success in achieving its objectives, emphasizing that the safe evacuation of Indian nationals under challenging conditions reflects both India’s capabilities and its commitment.

Dr. Jaishankar asserted that India’s response to cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistani soil will not be limited to Operation Sindoor alone. He announced that visa restrictions on Pakistani citizens will remain in place, citing ongoing security concerns.

“We have shown the world Pakistan’s true face,” the minister said. “Following the Pahalgam incident, the global community stood with India. We raised the matter at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), where Pakistan was seen defending the TRF (The Resistance Front), even as questions were being asked about its links to terrorism.”

He credited India’s foreign policy for the designation of the TRF as a terrorist organization by the United States. “We crossed a red line, and India responded with firm action,” Jaishankar added. “We exposed Pakistan’s long-standing history of supporting terrorism and sent out two clear messages: zero tolerance towards terrorism, and an unwavering commitment to protect our citizens.”
