Jammu: In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board has removed the requirement of Urdu language knowledge for recruitment to the posts of Patwari and Naib Tehsildar.
This decision brings major relief to thousands of candidates in the Jammu division, who earlier faced difficulties due to the compulsory Urdu qualification. Many aspirants were unable to apply or compete effectively despite being otherwise eligible.
According to officials, the move is aimed at making the recruitment process more inclusive, fair, and accessible for candidates from diverse educational backgrounds.
The decision has been widely welcomed by job aspirants, as it expands opportunities and ensures equal chances for selection in government jobs across the region.
