New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the 77th Republic Day celebrations wearing a traditional Bandhani turban. Crafted using the tie-and-dye art form, the turban featured shades of maroon, pink, green, yellow, and blue, and was adorned with a golden peacock feather motif.
At the Kartavya Path ceremony, the Prime Minister wore a deep navy-blue kurta, paired with a light blue half-jacket and a white churidar pajama. The colors of his attire symbolically echoed the uniforms of the Indian armed forces—the kurta resembling the Indian Navy’s colors and the jacket reflecting the Indian Air Force’s uniform.
Every year, the Prime Minister’s Republic Day attire, especially his choice of turban, draws significant public attention. Last year, he wore a colorful turban paired with a brown jacket.
