Srinagar: Gulshan Ara, the mother of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti, has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar after her health deteriorated.
According to hospital sources, Gulshan Ara was brought to SKIMS on Thursday morning and has been under continuous medical supervision since then. While no official statement has been made regarding her illness, a team of specialists is reportedly closely monitoring her condition in the ICU.
A senior PDP leader confirmed the news and stated, “Mehbooba Ji’s mother has been admitted to SKIMS. We request everyone to pray for her speedy recovery.”
Sources also informed that Mehbooba Mufti, who was in Delhi for an event, has cut short her visit upon receiving the news and is returning to Srinagar to be with her ailing mother. Party officials and family members have already reached the hospital.
