Medical Report Confirms Sexual Abuse of Minor Boys; Legal Troubles Mount for Swami Avimukteshwaranand

Prayagraj: In a significant development in the case against Swami Avimukteshwaranand and his disciple Mukundanand, police have received the medical examination reports of two minor boys who allegedly faced sexual abuse. The medical tests were conducted at Bailey Hospital, and the sealed reports were handed over to the police on Thursday.

According to sources from the hospital and police, the medical findings have reportedly confirmed signs of sexual abuse. However, officials have refrained from making any formal statement regarding the contents of the report. Investigators will now include the medical findings as part of the ongoing probe.

Earlier, on Wednesday, police from Jhunsi Police Station had taken the two minor boys for medical examination. They were initially brought to a Community Health Centre in Sarai Inayat, where doctors referred them to Bailey Hospital after confirming that they were minors.

Prior to the medical examination, the minors were produced before a court, where their statements were officially recorded. During the court proceedings, both boys reportedly described the alleged sexual assault and named Mukundanand along with several others. Their statements were formally documented.

The police had earlier recorded the victims’ statements before arranging for the medical examination. The medical report will now be incorporated into the case file, and authorities have intensified efforts to gather further evidence linked to the accused. In addition to Avimukteshwaranand and Mukundanand, police are also investigating three unidentified individuals and collecting scientific evidence to strengthen the case.

The case was registered by Jhunsi police following a court order and a complaint filed by Ashutosh Brahmachari, president of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mukti Nirman Trust based in Mathura-Vrindavan. Charges have been filed under criminal intimidation and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused are alleged to have sexually assaulted minor boys during the Mahakumbh and Magh Mela events.
